Adaptation and Why it is Essential to Personal Growth

by Diane Cardano-Casacio & Her Team

Life is not about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. -Lolly Daskal

Personal growth and adaptation are essential to success, though they can also be confusing. If we are not aware of how we are changing and adapting, then we can run the risk of getting in the way of our own natural progression towards betterment.

What is even worse, however, is when we change with no direction and no expectation of who or what we desire to become. You are going to change, that much is for sure… but how are you going to change? Are you going to grow in a positive direction, or a negative one? Are you going to get more or less patient? Are you going to become a better communicator, or are you going to go in the opposite direction and cause more conflict?

These are all questions that we must ask ourselves, because they are questions that literally shape who we are. In the end, we all have a choice in how we adapt and change.

We can either adapt and grow in a positive direction and become a better person.

Or…

We can flounder, lose direction, and become more negative.

Contrary to popular belief, there is actually no middle or ‘stagnant’ ground when it comes to personal growth. Even people who seem not to change actually do quite a bit of changing, despite the fact that it may not be as noticeable.

Adaptation, however, is essential to personal growth because we must adapt our mindsets to meet new challenges and to face new obstacles. You need to become more aware off your surroundings, better at seeing end results, and more comfortable with your choices. You also need to get better at research and more efficient with your time. Becoming a better communicator and a more positive person are also definite necessities.

If you can learn to do these things as you progress in life, then there is a very good chance that you will begin to see positive personal growth in a better direction. You will begin to like yourself more and to be more comfortable in your own skin. It will also make you more likely to succeed, because there are few things that teach you more about living than life experience itself.

Monday Morning Mojo- 5 Things To Tell Yourself When You Feel Like You Are Losing

by Diane Cardano-Casacio & Her Team

Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success. -Dale Carnegie

Feeling like you are losing is not a fun feeling, but you shouldn’t let it get you down. It is a natural thing that happens to everyone. Luckily, though, there are things that you can do to curb it, and talking yourself back into positivity is one of them.

If you have been feeling a bit discouraged lately, here are 5 things that you can tell yourself for encouragement.

#1 – Failure is just another step toward success

Don’t take failure too seriously. Instead, learn from it and adapt to increase your odds of succeeding next time.

#2 – Be thankful for the experience

Getting knocked down earns you valuable experience that you can use to make yourself better at what you do. This experience is actually worth more than gold, because it teaches you what does and doesn’t work. Don’t look at failure in a negative light. Instead, look at it as a learning experience.

#3 – The fact that you care enough about your own success to read motivational articles says that your odds of winning are better than your odds of losing

If you care enough about your destiny to motivate yourself with some extracurricular media, then there is a good chance that your head is on the right way. Don’t worry… you will succeed, even if it takes a while!

#4 – Failure and discouragement are temporary and isolated occurrences—but success is forever

Try not to get too wound up in the bad things that are happening right now, because they are short term problems. Success, on the other hand, is long term. It is worth the trouble, so never allow yourself to think anything else!

#5 – Your destiny is in your own hands

When you really think about it, knowing that success is a choice is an amazing thing. If you had a choice, would you rather choose to succeed at what you love or to settle for what you don’t? Well, believe it or not, that choice is yours to make! Choosing not to cave in to frustration will go a long way toward steering you even closer to your goals.

4 Ways To Be Brave When Everyone Else Is Telling You To Be Afraid

by Diane Cardano-Casacio & Her Team

All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them. -Walt Disney

Common sense should dictate our decisions in a major way, but being afraid of what has not yet happened is not going to get us anywhere. Being afraid of failure can also hinder you from really thinking clearly about what must be done in order to achieve your goals.

1… Remember that having courage is not the same as being foolish.

Investing in your future by chasing your dreams and goals is not foolish unless you do it foolishly, but people like to say that it is when they are busy doing what they don’t want to be doing. Sometimes people like to write off taking chances as foolishness because they truly don’t see the point in it, but you are probably different from them, so take this criticism for what it is… pure criticism, nothing more.

2… Remember that life is short and that there is no reason not to pursue big things for yourself.

Life isn’t going to last forever. When you take this into account, what reason do we really have for not pursuing our goals and dreams?

3… Surround yourself with positive people.

Having uplifting people around you can make a huge difference in your life! Once again, life is simply too short to spend around people who drag you down. Instead, focus on spending your time with people who encourage you and build you up. This can make a huge difference for both your attitude and your point of view.

4… Plan well and trust your plan.

If you have your goals lined out and you have a plan for achieving them that you truly believe makes practical sense, then stay confident in it unless someone legitimately points out a problem that you have not considered before. Remember, you don’t need approval… you just need information and a plan. The rest will take care of itself if you stick with it, remain adaptable, keep learning, and re-evaluate your position regularly.
